Not registered as a Democrat but you agree with our goals and wish to support our candidates and causes? No problem, we’d be delighted to have your donation in any amount.
We have a new date for this meeting: November 28, 217 that will include a group of exceptional, brave leaders discussing our current situation with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). What happens next and what can we do to help protect our students? Our speakers will include Luz Gallegos, Community Programs Director @ TODEC Legal Center (Training Occupational Development Educating Communities), Alejandra Zamora, an activist for the LGBTQ and Undocumented Communities in Coachella, and representatives from Inland Empire-Immigrant Youth Collective and The Mexican Consulate of San Bernardino.
We hope that with this discussion we help establish a network of visible allies that provide undocumented students’ access to trustworthy, knowledgeable, and sensitive people who provide support, information, and assistance in a safe and nondiscriminatory environment.
The meeting will be at Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs, starting at 6:00 pm. Read more in our Facebook Event post.
Also at this meeting we will be voting on early endorsements of four candidates who will be on the primary ballot in June 2018:
V. Manuel Perez - Riverside County Board of Supervisors, 4th District (incumbent)
Joy Silver,- 28th State Senate District
Eduardo Garcia,- 56th State Assembly District (incumbent)
Dr. Raul Ruiz, - 36th Congressional District (incumbent)
