Feeling helpless? Angry about the current administration’s actions? Fearful that Congress is only working to help the rich and powerful at the expense of everyone else? Time to TAKE ACTION!
On this page, we provide easy to use methods to let you voice your opinion to our elected representatives. We will also list events such as protest rallies, town halls and other public demonstrations that you can attend.
CALLING YOUR REPRESENTATIVES
A growing number of political activist websites now exist to help those opposed to the Trump administration’s policies and agenda to take action. But a new one, 5 Calls, has just launched a simple online tool that makes the cumbersome process of getting in touch with your representatives a lot easier than before. The homepage shows you how many calls are needed per action item. Then, when you click on an item, the site offers the phone number(s), the reason why it’s important, and the script to use while on the call. The site is also personalized to your location, if you enter your address or zip code. There is also, of course, an app for your cell phone.
Another site with a similar service is Daily Action. You can sign-up on-line or just text the word DAILY to the number 228466 (A-C-T-I-O-N) on your cell phone. You’ll be prompted to enter your ZIP code and that’s it—you’re signed up. You will subsequently receive one text message every workday about an urgent issue based on where you live. You tap on the phone number in your message, listen to a short recording about that day’s issue, and from there you’ll be automatically routed to your Senator, member of Congress, or other relevant elected official. In 90 seconds, you can conscientiously object and be done with it.
